BREAKING: Yoruba monarchs in Benin Republic meet over Sunday Igboho

Reports coming in confirms that Yoruba monarchs in Benin Republic today had a closed door meeting over the arrest and detention of Yoruba nation activist, Sunday Igboho.

The meeting was said to have taken place n the Palace of Alajohoun of Adjohoun, few kilometres away from Ajase.

Monarchs presence are Alajashe of Ajase from Port Novo, Alajohoun of Adjohoun, Onikoyi Abesan, and Oba of Seme.

Remember Igboho’s court case has been adjourned till tomorrow.This is after his five lawyers failed to convince the prosecutor that he had no case to answer.

However, Ropo is wife has been released.They were both arrested with the 48-year-old activist on Monday, July 19, 2021, by the International Criminal Police Organisation at the Cadjèhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin on their way to Germany.

On his part, Igboho was returned to police custody.

His Prosecutors had accused Sunday Igboho of allegedly trafficking in arms, inciting violence that could result in social disturbance and causing disunity in Nigeria.
